“As you think, so shall you be”

The first revolution hit when people who made stuff started to discover that information was often as valuable as the stuff itself. Knowing where something was or how it performed or how it interacted with you can be worth more than the item itself.

Frito Lay dominates the snack business because of the information infrastructure they built on top of their delivery model. 7 Eleven in Japan dominated for a decade or more because they used information to change their inventory. Zara in Europe is an information business that happens to sell clothes.

You’ve probably already guessed what’s now: information about information. That’s what Facebook and Google and Bloomberg do for a living. They create a meta-layer, a world of information about the information itself.

And why is this so valuable? Because it compounds. A tiny head start in access to this information gives you a huge advantage in the stock market. Or in marketing. Or in fundraising.

Many people and organizations are contributing to this mass of data, but few are taking advantage of the opportunity to collate it and present it to people who desperately need it. Think about how much needs to be sorted, compared, updated and presented to people who want to choose or learn or trade on it.

The race to deliver this essential scaling asset isn’t over, it’s just beginning.

A Positive Mental Attitude Will Affect Your Life’s Outcome

You can begin to change your entire life for the better right now without spending a penny. The way to do this is by taking control of your thought processes and making the firm decision to keep a positive mental attitude at all times.

Entire books have been written on this topic. In fact, for over a century now the positive thinking movement has outlined a simple, empowering solution for taking control of your life.

Skeptics have argued that changing your mind won’t change the facts around you. But this self-defeating theory isn’t true. The truth is – you can change your perception, and effectively change everything else that occurs from that point on.

You entire life experience takes place in the various parts of your brain – science has yet to prove that anything really exists in the outside world. As crazy as this sounds it’s absolutely true.

The whole world, as far as modern science can tell, exists as a series of data signals and interpretations inside the human brain.  By this logic, when you adopt a positive mental attitude, you take complete control of your entire world!

By exerting your power of thought and holding only those images that support your desires and goals, you’ll be living the life of your dreams.  And as you probably know by now, focused intention has a way of manifesting in the outside world as well.

You might be utterly astonished by the effect a few minor attitudinal adjustments can have on your overall happiness. If you resolve to totally stop complaining, you’ll find that other people enjoy being around you more, and that negative things actually happen to you less often.

If you go a step further and look for the good in every event, you’ll soon be living a life without stress and free from the troubles that consume most people in our society.  Clinical tests have proven that patients on anti-depressants can actually be cured by smiling at themselves in a mirror for twenty minutes a day.

By putting a smile on your face, whether you feel like it or not, and standing up straight, you can physically increase the production of chemicals that produce happiness. By giving thanks for all that you have, and for all the great things that are coming into your life, you’ll open the floodgates of prosperity and attract more of what you love. You’ll also feel much better on a daily basis.

People with the victim mentality will forever be plagued by misfortune because, on some level, that’s exactly what they want. By being happy and grateful, you’re telling the world you want more things that bring happiness and gratitude, and that’s exactly what you’ll get.

Being happier doesn’t have to be a long-term ambition – you can start right now. Little things, like taking a walk outside, doing a good deed, ridding yourself of a nagging task, or even just acting happy can radically transform our moods, boost morale, and energize us for the rest of the day.

Deep down, you probably already know that and you’re ready to be free from all the people and circumstances that keep you bound. You want to stop walking in the same deep rutted path and forge ahead even if you have to create a completely new path into uncharted territory. So what keeps you stuck where you are?

The same feeling that holds many people in place. Fear. It’s hard to break away from all the expectations of friends and loved ones and it’s hard to stand alone when living in a society that has ‘one size live like all’ rules. Most of us live lives that we were forced to fit.

But if you’re dissatisfied with where your life is, change it. Take the dreams inside of you, that quiet voice that dares to hope that your life doesn’t have to fall into the trap of mediocrity – and make your life fit you. It doesn’t matter what your job is now. It doesn’t matter how much stuff you have or what’s expected of you. What matters is that this is the only life that you currently have. Live it your way.

Life is a Gift – Opening to Receive Gifts – from Living Magically by Gill Edwards

(Taken from the Living Magically workshop – ‘Life is a Gift – Take One Cosmic Egg’)
————————————————–

The Universe knows what you want – and it has already said “Yes”. The only question is whether you are willing to receive your gifts – that is, whether your desires are aligned with your beliefs and expectations. So – how do you do this? Here are seven basic guidelines for opening to receive. If you can hold your vibrations coherent for just 21 days, everything you desire will be flowing into your reality!

1. Be Appreciative and Grateful for What is.

Accept your starting point. Wherever you are right now is perfect. There will always be a fresh desire which you have not yet fulfilled. That is the eternal journey of life. So you have to enjoy the journey, and appreciate your life as it is – otherwise your resistance keeps it stuck. And the deeper the hole you dig for yourself, the more your higher self is reaching for the stars! You cannot get it wrong.

2. Follow Your Bliss

Love and nurture yourself. Be your own best friend. Do whatever makes your heart sing and your spirit dance. Follow your energy, doing whatever feels right in this moment. Trust your impulses – as long as you are feeling good.

3. Hold the Energy of Your Future Self

Daydream about what you desire for 15 minutes a day – just enjoying it. Keep imagining that it has already happened. Think as you might think. Do what you might do.

4. Clean Up Your Vibrations Around This Desire

Whenever you feel any negative emotion – especially when thinking about something you want – take time to clarify what thought brought you into conflict with your higher self. Find softer thoughts which bring relief. Feel your way back into the flow. Nothing is more important than how you feel. Make sure that your thoughts, beliefs and expectations are aligned with your desire. Use other people as helpful mirrors of any thoughts which are not yet in alignment, or as mirrors of how you are coming into alignment.

5. Keep a List of General Thoughts Which Keep You in the Flow

eg. The Universe says “Yes” to every desire that I have. I can have, do and be anything that I want. Everything is always unfolding perfectly. The Universe is coordinating events and circumstances to make my dreams come true. Everything is happening in the perfect timing. I am deeply loved and cherished. My happiness can never come at anyone else’s expense, since the Universe keeps everyone’s needs in mind. Nothing is more important than feeling good. Everything changes, this too will pass.

6. Above All, Stop Doing Whatever Keeps You Out of the Flow!

This is always signalled by negative emotion. It might be negative thoughts about yourself, or about what others are doing wrong, or about your desire, or about the state of the world, or defending and justifying why you should have what you want, and why the current situation is bad or wrong, or telling yourself why your childhood or past decisions have left you so stuck, or what your “issues” are, or who else is to blame, or why it is unlikely or inappropriate. Or being guided by others’ needs or expectations or demands or advice. Or just focussing on what is – and noticing that what you want still isn’t here. If you just stop thinking such thoughts – without even having to think positive thoughts about your desire – you will start moving towards your dream. It is guaranteed. Ask and it is given. No exceptions. All you have to do is get into the flow.

7. Note What You Are Pushing Against – and “Reach Towards” What You Want Instead.

Pushing against is resistance; it always keeps us out of the flow. You can never know what anyone else’s path or guidance is – and what they are doing is none of your business. And it cannot affect you – or even come into your reality – unless it matches your vibrations. Criticising or objecting or defending yourself pulls more of it towards you. Instead, hold a vision of what you want, and see what is best and highest in others – even if they are not showing it to you right now. Think like the Universe – which never sees any fault or wrongdoing. It only sees what you are moving towards, who you and others are becoming, where you are all flowing.

LIVING ONE PAYCHECK AWAY FROM BANKRUPTCY
(Jeffrey Mayer – http://www.SucceedingInBusiness.com)

Almost six of every ten American families, with children
under the age of 18, live from paycheck to paycheck.

And one in every three Americans, who are earning $75,000 or
more, annually are relying on their latest paychecks to get by,
according to the just released “2003 Employee Benefits Study”
by MetLife.

This literally puts millions of American families
one paycheck away from bankruptcy.

Why is this?

I think it has to do with a failure to plan for the future.

The MetLife study said:

* Almost seven of every ten American workers are very
concerned about making ends meet. For women,
the percentage rises to 74 percent.

* Such short-term financial planning leaves little room
for college savings or planning for retirement.

* Only 25 percent seek expert financial planning and
investing advice, and only 30 percent are interested
in receiving planning advice as a workplace benefit.

* Sixty-three percent of employees spend less than an hour
considering their household’s financial needs during their
company’s open enrollment for employee benefits.

C. Robert Henrikson, president of MetLife’s U.S. insurance
and financial services businesses, said,
“Employees spend hundreds of hours every year shopping
for clothes, electronics and personal grooming products, but
on average spend only 30 minutes each year making important
benefits decisions that impact their financial security.”

Remember the old sayings:

* If you fail to plan, you plan to fail

and

* If you don’t know where you’re going,
any road will take you there.

As you go through life, you’ve got two choices:

1. You can take charge and take control. or,
2. You can abdicate your responsibilities
and hope for the best.

Live Your Dreams
It’s my wish that you become hugely successful and live your
dreams. But to do that you need a Master Vision and a Master Plan.

Look at where you are today. Dream of where
you want to be tomorrow and then create your
Master Plan of ACTion to take you there.

Think of Tiger Woods. His focus is two inches wide and
five miles long. Then there’s you, me, and everybody else.
Our focus is five miles wide and two inches long.

And we wonder why we aren’t going any place?

If you want help setting your goals, my “Setting and
Achieving Your Goals” walks you through the process
of looking where you are now, identifying where you
want to be tomorrow and helping you create a Master
Plan to take you there.

Here’s the link to order your copy:

Here are two visualization examples:
If you want to buy/build your dream house, cut out pictures of what
you want the house, and the rooms inside to look like. Put them up
on your wall so you can look at them every day. Think about the
furniture. The paint colors. The texture of the flooring and carpeting.

Dream about owning your house and your mind
will create a plan for you to buy it.

If you want a new job, write down – in minute detail – what that ideal
job looks like. Who is the employer. What do they sell? Where are
they located? What is your position within the company? Where
is your office located? What view do you have when you
look out the window?

What are your daily responsibilities? Who do you work with?
What do these people look like? How much money will you
be making? Write down that number and pin it on the wall.

Once you know what your ‘ideal’ job looks like, than
you’ll know exactly what you’re looking for.

Increasing Sales
To be successful in sales you must have an active
- day-in, day-out – Master Plan for your success.

What is your annual goal? Quarterly goal? Monthly goal? Weekly
goal? Daily Goal? Morning and afternoon goal? Hourly goal?

Break down your big goals into smaller ones.
The smaller they are the easier they are to achieve.

How many people do you need to call – speak to – each day to
hit your targets? The most effective tool for growing your
business is the telephone. How much time do you spend
on the phone looking for new customers?

How much more successful would you be if you looked
for more customers each and every day?

Life is a Gift – Three Creation Myths

At the recent workshop, Gill Edwards of Living Magically, talked about three different cosmologies. Depending on which cosmology you go with affects how you live your life.

1. Life is a Trial – Religion
2. Life is an Accident – Science
3. Life is a Gift – Embodied Mysticism

1. LIFE IS A TRIAL – Religion

The “Be Good” cosmology

Life is a trial, test, challenge or mission. Earth is a training school and the purpose of life is to “perfect” yourself. You are here to learn lessons. You are here to prove yourself good and worthy. The underlying message is that there is something wrong with you (or with the world), which needs to be fixed, that you are inadequate, that you must seek redemption or fulfil an unknown task or mission – and you get Brownie points for hard work, suffering and self-sacrifice. If you succeed, you will get your reward in the after-life (or at least burn off bad karma). If something bad happens, you are either being punished or being tested.

The word God comes from the German word for good. In other words, this cosmology is based upon judgement. Conditional love. It is judgement – that is, splitting the world into good and bad, or right and wrong – which destroys our inner peace, and it is the source of every war, feud and on-going conflict on the planet. Deep down, it sees us as inherently bad.

When you are taught to be good, you are learning not to be true to yourself. You learn to suppress your own emotions and desires, in the vain hope of earning or deserving love. Your priority is being good and perfect in the eyes of others. You are guided from outside yourself, and learn to conform. You jump through hoops to please others. You develop an inner judge or critic who keeps you (and others) in check. You are taught that love is conditional. Which is not love at all!

2. LIFE IS AN ACCIDENT – Science

The “Be Safe” cosmology

This creation myth emerged from science in the 17th century, when science was officially separated from religion. It suggests that life on earth is a random, statistical accident. An accident which is so unlikely as to be quite miraculous – but an accident nevertheless. In Western society, this is the myth which is widely agreed to be ‘common sense’, so we all carry some of this myth within us too. We are seen as isolated beings hurtling through space on an inert lump of rock, in a mostly dark and empty universe. Life starts with conception, and death is the end. The existence of God and the unseen realms is seen as unnecessary or irrelevant, or pooh-poohed as childish fantasy.

We are seen as the hapless victims of luck, chance and coincidence. It sees life as unpredictable and chaotic. Accidents can happen. Disaster might strike. You never know what is around the next corner. You can only control life by actively controlling your circumstances, and safeguarding yourself against threats and danger. The priority is staying safe and secure. You might seek security through jobs, pensions, insurance or possessive relationships. You might become afraid of taking risks. Afraid of change. Afraid of letting go. Or you might be controlling towards others. It is a myth which promotes beliefs in lack, scarcity and competition. After all, in a solid reality, there is only so much to go around.

This is a creation myth based upon fear and separation. It means that you try to change or control life from the outside-in, instead of from the inside-out. Psychologically, it leaves you anxious and vulnerable, or lonely and empty. Happiness often feels precarious, as if the rug might be pulled from under you at any time. And love is nowhere to be found.

3. LIFE IS A GIFT – Embodied Mysticism

The ancient, divine, feminine cosmology

Since ancient times, there has been a holistic and earth-centred cosmology – still held by many tribal cultures – which sees us as inseparable from God and nature. In Western society, this ancient way was hunted down, outlawed and forced underground for many centuries. But in recent decades, it has been emerging not only from mysticism and shamanism, but also from the cutting edge of modern science. This myth sees everything that exists as birthed from the body of God. It sees creation as an undivided whole – a web or field of conscious energy. And it suggests that life is a wondrous gift from a loving, conscious and ever-evolving Source.

When you see life as a gift, the Earth becomes a playground. We are all creative sparks of divine energy. You are inseparable from God/Source, and that same creative force is flowing through you. You are loved. You have nothing to prove. Your goodness and worthiness are never in question. You are an eternal being of Light – and the purpose of life is joy. God is unconditional love. There is no judgement. There are no risks. Mistakes are impossible. Your priorities are joy and delight, love and freedom, adventure and creative self-expression.

When you follow your bliss . . .
doors will open where you would not have thought
there would be doors; and where
there wouldn’t be a door for anyone else.

I know there is an infinite system in the universe that is of me, in me and around me. We are all connected to it, are in it, and are of it. I am connected to you as well as to everyone else through the energy that sustains us. I know that when I give anything into this energy system, it will return to me in kind, multiplied and amplified because the nature of the system is to grow and expand. I am grateful for this realization, and for the gifts I have now, am receiving, and will receive. I trust the process to work for me, as it does for everyone who activates it with giving.
So be it. It is so!
