I've been tagged to list my success tips...
Case Stevens tagged me yesterday to share ten success tips with you. If you visit his blog he shares a bit of the history of who tagged him, and then in turn who he tagged. Of course now I get to tag a few people ...cool. :) I'll think on that and get back to you.
Now here are some of my success tips in no particular order...
1. Whatever it is you want -- whether money or something else -- make sure you have a clear reason and a burning desire for it.
For example, you say you want to make $100k or perhaps a million bucks. Why? Are you shooting for that just because it's a cool number, or do you have good reason and burning desire to accomplish this goal?
2. Help others whenever you can.
This is karma, baby. Don't expect anything back for helping, but do what you can to make the world go 'round. Whether you give someone your products for free, or just help someone jump start their car, spread a little kindness whenever you see an opportunity.
3. View others without judging.
It'll make you -- and them -- feel better.
4. Mistakes happen! Let them go.
Forgive yourself. Oh yes, you will make mistakes, and in business they could be very costly mistakes. Let 'em go. Beating yourself up or worrying won't help the situation.
5. Start a list! Follow up with your customers, your affiliates, and your newsletter readers.
The hassle factor is far less than the benefits you get from starting a list. Even if you're not sure you can keep up with a newsletter, start one anyway. You'll kick yourself the day you wake up and realize you could have had a list of thousands had you only started a newsletter from day one.
6. Keep yourself in your customer's shoes.
No matter what you do in your business look at it critically through your customer's eyes. From product development to blogging to article writing, always think about how it will BENEFIT your customer.
Oh sure, you're in business to make money. But if you focus entirely on how something makes you money and/or benefits you, you'll lose track of how it benefits the customer. I've heard it said before that money is just a measure of how much value you add to society.
7. Put the smack down on the negative, doubting voice.
Sometimes you'll get a spark of inspiration, and your inner censor will say "that's a dumb idea." Don't listen to that voice. Be brave and take action!
Take a moment now and look around your environment. Everything around you is the result of someone's idea. What if they had listened to their negative critic that said, "that' stupid?"
What's the saying -- fortune favors the bold?
8. Focus.
Jump from one project to the next and you'll never complete anything. I know plenty of people who do this -- for years -- and have yet to make a dime online. Every new idea seems more exciting than the idea they're currently working on, so they dump one to start working on another. No follow-through = no income and no business.
9. Rest. Relax.
Almost as important as taking action (e.g, "working") is to sometimes stop working. Stop and enjoy life for a while. Play with your kids. Walk your dog. Watch the spring flowers come into bloom. Go to your local coffee shop and try something you've never tried before. Go away for the weekend.
But above all -- turn off the computer. You'll miss the journey if all you can see is the end.
Besides, you'll recharge your creativity -- just watch how your productivity skyrockets when you're recharged!
10. Stay in touch with those of like minds and similar goals.
Yep, you got it -- network and mastermind. It's awesome.
